Great News The One Campaign Won The Vote!
Victory! http://www.myspace.com/impactawards
In case you didn't notice already, ONE won this month's Impact Award.
We wanted to wait to tell you until we officially were in possession of our virtual trophy.
You know how after championship games, the winning athletes hold up the trophy and yell to the fans "This is for you" or "We couldn't have done this without you"?
Well, we are doing the same. For us, though, it is a bit different. We aren't the victors. You are. ONE is its members. And we appreciate your votes and your voice.
So, here you go: This trophy is yours. Be proud of it. But know that this isn't the time for an offseason or anything of the sorts. ONE is moving forward into its biggest initiatives yet, and the stakes and opportunities are continually growing.
OK, enough with silly metaphors. Seriously, though, we are launching a new era in American politics. Thanks for moving this campaign forward.
- The ONE Team
Also, we wanted to give a shout-out to the two other great organizations who were finalists with us. We are not competing against each other, but are together striving for the same goal: a better, safer world for all, one without extreme poverty. Please check them out:

The One Campaign Update
Hey all,
Thanks for hanging with us this past week as we discussed the various ways ONE is making such an Impact in our culture and around the world.
During this week-long "Impact notice" series of bulletins, we were only able to touch on a few of the goals and successes that ONE can claim as an organzation.
Even though there are many more specific issues, legislative victories, and future campaigns that we could discuss, on this final bulletin we want to end with the broad Impact of ONE and how ONE is changing American politics forever.
ONE's broad Impact as an organization is nothing less than what our motto "make poverty history" suggests:
to create the political will to end extreme poverty in our lifetime. The big picture of what ONE is can best be explained as "the movement."
You, me, all of us as ONE are part of the social, cultural, ideological, and political movement in this country which will make fighting the grave injustices of extreme poverty and global diseases a foreign policy priority.

Because of the power of coming together with ONE voice, we are bringing about a fresh new era of global awareness and justice in our politics. This is not a Republican or a Democratic issue, it is an American issue.
This movement is only possible because of you; you are the movement. True social movements are created not by the powerful few but by the revolutionary many. That is the reason for our optimsim.

The One Campaign
Thanks so much for all your support and dedication to the ONE Campaign. Your efforts, both large and small, are changing the world. We know you’re always eager for chances to make a difference, so we wanted to spread the word about some fellow world-changers that have profoundly affected many of us here at ONE.
Invisible Children
The non-profit Invisible Children started as a documentary film made by three young guys from Southern California. When they traveled to Northern Uganda in 2003, they stumbled across a war being waged by a rebel army where children were being abducted from their homes and then forced to fight as child soldiers. The craziest part: the majority of the world had no idea it was going on. The filmmakers brought the story back to the U.S. and have been raising grassroots awareness ever since, encouraging people to use their talents and resources to draw attention to the longest running war in Africa.
How can you help? We thought you’d never ask. Check out the movie at www.invisiblechildren.com. Add them to your top friends, and this April 28th join Invisible Children as they try to bring an end to this 21-year-long war through a nationwide event called Displace Me. Displace Me aims to raise international awareness of the roughly 1.5 million Ugandans who have been forced into modern day internment camps that lack adequate shelter, food, and protection. The event will be a huge visual statement to the government and media saying we demand action in ending the war in Northern Uganda. Learn more at http://www.invisiblechildren.com/displaceMe and become a part of the story. Again, thank you so much for your voice and now, your bodies for Displace Me.
